                                            Nick Jacob

Managing Director of Menai Geophysical Consultants Ltd, Nick Jacob has been a consultant geophysicist since 1990. Nick has training experience in Seismic Acquisition and Processing.

Nick has 25+ years experience of seismic data interpretation, acquisition, supervision, quality control and management of a wide variety of geophysical studies, both land and marine, for the oil, civil engineering and water industries in the UK, Europe, USA, Middle and Far East.

During this time thorough experience has been gained in all types of 2D Exploration Survey, Site Survey, Pipeline Survey, Cable Route Survey, AUV operations & geophysical data acquisition systems including all common types of analogue and digital seismic systems.  

Nick has in depth knowledge of interpretation of both analogue and digital seismic data together with report preparation.  He has experience with in situ soils testing and evaluation including gravity coring, vibrocoring, CPT and geotechnical drilling systems.

Nick has extensive experience as a Client Representative and quality control supervisor for digital and analogue surveys with frequent utilisation of the MicroMax and ProMax onboard processing systems, additionally QC of offshore data interpretation of HR and UHR seismic data on SMT Kingdom Suite.

Other experience includes office based Geohazard data interpretation using Landmark and Charisma work station systems, Geohazard interpretation for batch wells currently being set on the Greater Plutonio Project (BP) Angola and Geohazard interpretation for wells drilled or to be drilled in Angola and Egypt.

Nick has a good working knowledge of offshore positioning systems, oceanographic survey equipment and techniques, AUV and ROV based systems and surveys as well as geotechnical soil sampling, testing and evaluation.
